Celia Kerslake, a former professor of Turkish Studies at Oxford University, British Green Party volunteer, human rights defender and donor, who devoted her life to academic studies in the field of Turkish Language and is known for her many valuable works in the literature, passed away on February 7, 2023.
In addition to being an extremely creative and meticulous scientist, Celia has been an example to all of us throughout her life, with her surprising command of the Turkish language, love for people and the environment, and naive and respectful behaviour.
In accordance with Celia's will, after the legal and administrative processes are completed, we will implement the 'Celia Kerslake Human Rights Support Fund' as Project House Cooperative. Within the scope of this fund, which was established on the basis of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, legal support and/or temporary financial or in-kind assistance will be provided to persons determined to be victimized by an independent five-person Evaluation Board. As Project House Cooperative, we will do our best to keep Celia's values and legacy alive.
Funeral will be held at Fairspear Natural Burial Ground Cemetery on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 12:00 a.m. (Fairspear Rd, Leafield, Witney OX29 9NY, United Kingdom https://g.co/kgs/vJDeME). Relatives of Celia, who said she was aware of the great earthquake disaster on February 6, 2023 and were deeply saddened, expressed that those who want to donate to her memory can support charity organizations.
We will miss Celia, she was one of us, and we remember her with mercy and love.
